A billboard promoting an OnlyFans account featuring Louisiana native Meighan Baker has become a hot topic of conversation in New Orleans. Towering over Central City near the Caesars Superdome, the billboard prominently displays Baker’s OnlyFans username, “ArielleMyles88,” sparking a mix of reactions, from criticism to praise.
Baker, a former dancer at Rick’s Cabaret on Bourbon Street, turned to OnlyFans during the COVID-19 pandemic when her dancing gigs came to a halt. Now, with the help of her business partner and boyfriend, Steven Gremillion, she has built a thriving online presence, leveraging multiple platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Of course, “thriving” is a relative term, considering she has only 1800 followers on Instagram and only 969 on Twitter.
The idea for the billboard, initially conceived as a joke, was inspired by another OnlyFans creator who was fired from her job after her account was discovered. Gremillion noted that the woman now earns approximately $250,000 per month from OnlyFans.
Baker and Gremillion saw the potential for significant financial gain and decided to invest in the billboard. They received no pushback from Lamar Advertising Company, with the only stipulation being that the image used couldn’t be provocative.
Since the billboard’s debut on July 29, Baker’s OnlyFans subscriptions have doubled, and her income has increased by 200%. The billboard has also garnered significant attention on social media, with comments ranging from attacks on her appearance to support from fellow sex workers and New Orleans residents.
Baker and Gremillion emphasized that while sexual content is part of their online presence, it represents only a small portion of their overall work. They also utilize OFTV, a non-explicit platform, to share content related to fishing.
The couple’s entrepreneurial spirit and success have enabled them to provide a better life for their children. “Our kids could have anything they’ve ever asked for,” Gremillion stated.
The billboard is scheduled to remain up for four weeks. Based on its performance, Baker and Gremillion are considering investing in additional billboards in the New Orleans area. This bold move has not only generated substantial financial gains but also ignited a conversation about the evolving landscape of the adult entertainment industry and the power of online platforms like OnlyFans.
Baker’s story highlights the entrepreneurial spirit of individuals utilizing platforms like OnlyFans to achieve financial independence and challenge societal norms. The billboard’s presence in New Orleans serves as a visual reminder of the growing influence of the online creator economy and the diverse paths individuals are taking to achieve success.
